Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport
Capital City residents and visitors enjoy general aviation fun and commercial airline flights close to the city. The Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport encompasses 2,300 acres, just a few miles northwest of Springfield. The majority of airport traffic is used by general aviation through the airport's fixed base operators, McClelland Aviation Company, Landmark Aviation and Standard Aero. The Capital Airport Air National Guard Station is also based at the airport, as the home base for the 183d Fighter Wing.
Commercial flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Fort Myers and Myrtle Beach are available through American Eagle Airlines, United Express Airlines and Vision Airlines. Terminal amenities includes free airport parking, rental car agencies and convenience items from the gift shop.
